The Course

Learners study Literacy in the context of an infection control course. The coursework folder is used as a vocational 'vehicle' to help learners work towards and achieve Adult Literacy Qualification at Level 1, whilst learning important aspects of their work in infection control.

The workbook is designed in three main sections:

Section 1: Personal hygiene
Section 2: The work environment
Section 3: Food Hygiene

There are a series of tasks:

• Planning for written communication
• Punctuate sentences correctly
• Use grammar correctly
• Spell frequently used words
• Write in complete sentences
• Presenting information in a logical sequence
• How much to write
• Produce legible text
